About Hartford SCORE

Hartford SCORE Services
The Hartford Chapter of SCORE was founded in 1964 as a charter member of the National Score Association. Our counseling personnel are primarily retired business owners and other business executives who volunteer their time and expertise to help small business owners and potential small business owners achieve success. Our Services are FREE.

SCORE assists small businesses by providing direction to start-up as well as existing businesses in need of counseling in areas of business and financial planning, marketing, manufacturing and other disciplines.   Face-to-face or online, the counselors of Chapter 56 are able and willing to aid in the success of small business. SCORE counselors provide you with in-depth, industry-specific business assistance to help evaluate a business idea or plan, stimulate business growth and ensure long-term stability.

Meet the Chapter Leader- Bob Hager
Steve Kreinik

Bob Hager recently retired from both teaching and consulting, but continues to volunteer in a wide range of activities, including serving as Chair of SCORE Chapter 56.  Mr. Hager has served as Senior Lecturer at The University of Hartford for 25 years.  He also taught at the University of Connecticut and University of Maryland. 

Bob's business experience includes V.P., Treasurer and Controller of Scoville Corporation in Waterbury, CT, Corporate Controller of Loctite Corporation and V.P. and Controller for Marine Midland Banks ( now HSBC) in NYC.  He received his MBA from Syracuse University, holds  a Certificate in Management (CMA) and is an enrolled agent with the IRS.
