Bob Hagere, Chapter Chair

The Hartford Connecticut Chapter of SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” is part of a national nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of the nation’s small business. SCORE volunteers serve as “Counselors to America's Small Business.”

The Hartford SCORE Chapter provides free and confidential business counseling and holds small business workshops and seminars tailored to meet the needs of your small business and your personal objectives. Workshops are offered each month at a modest fee, for both start-up entrepreneurs and in-business small business owners.

SCORE volunteers are professionals with time-tested knowledge who donate thousands of hours to help small businesses succeed. We have experts in such areas as accounting, finance, marketing, management and business plan preparation.

The Hartford Chapter is a charter member of the SCORE Organization and is comprised of more than 40 volunteers that provide guidance and counseling to entrepreneurs in the Greater Hartford area. Go to About Hartford SCORE to learn more about how we may assist you. We look forward to serving you.

Top 5 Marketing Tips That Work

Marketing is such a broad term these days, much more so than it used to be. Between real-life marketing through hard copy and other mediums and digital marketing the list of what a business owner can take advantage of is massive. However, there are marketing strategies that have been known to work well. Here are 5 that we think belong at the top. For more info check out Stretch Media, Inc. and see if they can help your business or company.

1. Get rid of your old marketing guide - Yes, you read that correctly. Gone are the antiquated marketing methods of two decades ago. Those guidelines no longer hold relevance in our current era and usually only end up in an over-expenditure of funds.

Today's marketing landscapes change so rapidly it is much important to keep up on them rather than rely on age-old, fruitless tactics.

2. Learn how to use content marketing to your advantage - Providing high-quality marketing content is paramount to accomplishing success in today's business world. Videos, images, layouts, color schemes and other mediums, digital or otherwise must be well thought-out and professionally delivered.
